MODA Mocktails, the canned non-alcoholic cocktail brand co-founded by mother and daughter Sosy and Grace Hachigian, has reached $500,000 in revenue since launching earlier this year, Sosy Hachigian told Entrepreneur in a Side Hustle Spotlight Q&A published October 8. She said the company projects $3 million to $5 million in revenue for 2027 and aims to be in 4,000 stores by mid-2027.
The founders have personally invested over $500,000 in product development, packaging, marketing, sampling and distribution, Grace Hachigian told Entrepreneur. It took about six months to see consistent revenue, she said, and no earnings have been taken out as the business reinvests. Sosy Hachigian said MODA reached shelves at multiple national retail chains within its first year and is expanding into airports and hotels. Grace, 26, leads the East Coast business from New York City, and Sosy, 57, manages the West Coast from Orange County, California. Grace was working full-time as an associate brand manager at Nestlé USA when the pair started MODA, and spent four years at Nestlé on brands including Coffee mate, Nesquik and Starbucks, she told the outlet.
The lineup has five sparkling flavors, Margarita, Paloma, Italian Spritz, Gin & Tonic and Lemoncello Lavender, sold in 12 fl oz cans, with 12- and 24-packs listed at $44.95 to $84.95 on the company's site. The company says the drinks are made with ingredients including natural flavors, agave and botanical extracts. MODA became WBENC-certified as a women-owned business when it launched, Sosy Hachigian told Entrepreneur.
Why it matters
MODA's figures describe a brand that has so far taken in roughly what its founders put in: about $500,000 in revenue against more than $500,000 of personal investment. The 2027 projection of $3 million to $5 million would mean multiplying that partial-year base several times over, and the 4,000-store goal is the mechanism. The founders frame growth around physical distribution, citing national chains, airports and hotels, and Sosy Hachigian credited WBENC's retail-focused programs with helping the business. The flavor list ties each can to a familiar cocktail, which gives buyers and shoppers an immediate reference point, and the company also pitches the drinks as mixers for anyone who wants to add a spirit.
What to watch
The open question is how MODA finances a move to 4,000 stores by mid-2027. The founders describe more than $500,000 of their own money invested and all revenue reinvested; whether that approach carries a national build-out, or gives way to outside investment, will shape the brand's next stage.
