Kava Haven, the kava-infused non-alcoholic spirit founded by Billy Grady and Grace Manwaring, says it has expanded into more than 1,100 retail locations nationwide since launching in 2024 and has shipped hundreds of thousands of bottles. The company gave those figures in a July 2026 announcement of its arrival at Erewhon Market locations throughout Southern California.
The count has climbed quickly by the company's own figures. An August 2024 release said the brand had reached more than 24 states within four months. In December 2025, when Kava Haven won Best Non-Alcoholic Botanical Spirit at the Sans Bar Awards in Austin, Texas, the company said it had expanded into over 800 independent retailers, bars and restaurants in less than a year and was moving into regional grocers including Central Market, PCC Community Markets, Metropolitan Market and Haggen.
Online, the product sells as a 750 ml bottle at $53.00, or $47.70 with a 10 percent subscription discount, with 17 servings per bottle, per the company's site. It is made with CO2-extracted noble kava sourced from Vanuatu and is designed to be mixed like a clear spirit such as vodka or tequila, the company says. Its founding story says the drink grew out of a 75-day cleanse that required the founders to stop drinking. The site cites more than 100,000 verified purchases.
Why it matters
Kava Haven's distribution path runs from specialty to mainstream. Its 2024 release was built around independent non-alcoholic bottle shops, its December 2025 release added regional grocers, and the Erewhon listing puts it in a high-profile natural retailer. Each step widens the shopper base and raises the bar on proof of sell-through, yet the brand's public metrics remain store counts and the company's figure of "hundreds of thousands of bottles," all self-reported. The format is also a deliberate choice: by pricing a 750 ml bottle at $53.00 and pitching it as a stand-in for vodka or tequila in mixed drinks, Kava Haven competes for the spirits shelf and the home-bar occasion rather than for a single-serve can.
What to watch
Whether Kava Haven's grocery expansion moves beyond regional and specialty chains such as Central Market, Haggen and Erewhon into a national grocery account is the next test of how far a kava-based spirit can travel past the bottle-shop channel that built it.
