Originally reported by PR Newswire.

Garage Beer, the Columbus, Ohio-based light beer brand backed by NFL stars Jason and Travis Kelce, has secured a $20 million revolving line of credit from Tiger Finance, according to a PR Newswire release dated October 13, 2026. The facility is intended to support national distribution expansion and new product development.

The deal marks the latest financing milestone for Garage Beer, which has been led by CEO Andy Sauer since 2023. Durational Capital Management made a strategic investment in the brand in 2025. Patrick Khayat, Co-Founder and Partner of Durational, said in the PR Newswire release that the credit structure "leverages the strength of Garage Beer's brand to support the Company's growth objectives" and that the firm looks forward to expanding the product line and growing into new markets. Andy Cerussi, Senior Managing Director of Tiger Finance, noted the impact the Kelce brothers have had on brand awareness, per the same release.

Unlike a traditional equity round, a revolving credit facility gives Garage Beer access to capital it can draw and repay as operational needs require, offering flexibility as it targets new retail and distribution footprints. Tiger Finance, a division of Tiger Capital Group, provides asset-based debt solutions to middle-market companies, per the company. Garage Beer currently offers two varieties, Classic and Lime, both brewed at 4% ABV and 95 calories, per the company.

Why it matters

The light beer category has faced significant disruption in recent years, with celebrity-backed brands competing for shelf space alongside long-dominant mass-market labels. Garage Beer's use of a revolving credit facility rather than another equity round is significant: it signals that the brand carries sufficient asset and brand value to secure debt financing, which avoids further dilution for existing investors including Durational. For the broader CPG market, this approach reflects a growing willingness among consumer brands to use asset-based lending to fund expansion without surrendering ownership. The Kelce brothers' national profile gives the brand a marketing footprint that few independent light beer brands can replicate at comparable cost.

What to watch

The central open question is whether Garage Beer can convert celebrity association and strong Midwest brand recognition into durable national retail placement. Distribution remains the critical challenge for any challenger beer brand attempting to scale, and how the company deploys this credit facility across new markets will determine whether the financing delivers the growth both Durational Capital Management and Tiger Finance are expecting.
