Happy Dad, the hard seltzer brand co-founded in 2021 by Sam Shahidi, John Shahidi, and Kyle Forgeard, is expanding beyond its core carbonated lineup with a non-carbonated hard lemonade range set to launch nationwide across the United States and Canada in February 2027. The move follows the brand's earlier entries into hard tea and single-serve lemonade formats, and represents its broadest push into the flavored alcohol segment to date.
The new lineup will arrive in a variety 12-pack and a 24oz Strawberry Lemonade single. Four flavors make up the range: Strawberry Lemonade, Pink Lemonade, Mango Lemonade, and Blueberry Lemonade. Each can carries 100 calories and 1g of sugar, per the company. The launch also extends Happy Dad's Realtree partnership, which the brand has applied to lemonade products since 2025, when it introduced a 10% ABV Realtree Lemonade 24oz, followed by a 5% ABV Realtree Lemonade 12-pack in 2026.
Why it matters
The flavored malt beverage and beyond-beer segment continues to attract investment from RTD brands looking to reduce dependence on any single format. Happy Dad built its identity around hard seltzer but has methodically added adjacent categories. Its earlier lemonade SKUs gave it a foothold in the hard lemonade segment, and the February 2027 launch attempts to convert that foothold into a full product line with mainstream retail presence. The brand secured Target distribution for its existing lemonade and fruit punch products, giving it an established channel into which the new variety pack can be placed.
The Realtree tie-in carries additional commercial weight. Licensed outdoor and lifestyle partnerships hold credibility with specific retail buyers, particularly in convenience and grocery chains where the Realtree aesthetic has existing equity. Extending that partnership into a broader flavored lineup could strengthen Happy Dad's negotiating position at shelf and help distinguish its lemonade range from competing SKUs in an increasingly crowded segment.
What to watch
Retail authorizations for the new hard lemonade SKUs have not been disclosed. The critical variable is whether the brand can secure placement in enough doors ahead of the summer selling season, the period when flavored alcohol velocity is highest in convenience and grocery channels. Happy Dad's ability to convert its existing seltzer shelf relationships into lemonade doors will be a clear signal of how far its distribution network has matured since the brand's 2021 founding.
